This great suggestion came from David Baugh and his idea to use iPads for Language Lessons - his video demo focused on summarizing an English novel, but this easily translated to our Spanish novel, Pobre Ana. I used the Popplet Lite App on the iPad to summarize chapter 8 of Pobre Ana. There is also a website version of Popplet, which I played with over the summer and enjoyed. The major events go across the top, with the events connected to the major event below it.

There were a couple limitations that I would change next time. First, you can only use 20 images. There were a few more images that I wanted to include, but they had to be sacrificed because I was not willing to pay to update to the full version.

The other limitation is the final viewing size. I could only save as an image. I had zoomed in when creating the summary, so it was much easier to read. I suppose I could save the Popplet in a series of images than edit them so they mesh together, but that is a lot more effort. That was my fault for not checking the publish options on the app before I started.

This was another for the series of chapter summaries created for my 6th grade Spanish students to help them review/re-read the chapter in less traditional ways. The other links can be found below. There are summaries so far for Pobre Ana:
